1. Heat exchange efficiency: The fluid flow rate determines the contact time between fluids in a plate heat exchanger. A higher fluid flow rate can increase the effective utilization of heat exchange surfaces, thereby improving heat exchange efficiency. On the contrary, if the fluid flow rate is too low, it may lead to insufficient heat exchange.
2. Temperature difference: The fluid flow rate is also related to the temperature difference of the fluid. At a specific fluid flow rate, a larger temperature difference can increase the heat exchange rate and efficiency. The change in fluid flow rate may lead to a change in temperature difference.
3. Fluid velocity and pressure drop: The fluid flow rate determines the flow velocity of the fluid inside the plate heat exchanger. Excessive fluid velocity may lead to unnecessary pressure drop, while excessively low fluid velocity may affect heat transfer efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to control the pressure drop while maintaining a sufficiently high fluid velocity.
4. Energy consumption: Fluid flow rate is also related to the energy consumption of pumps or fans. A larger fluid flow rate usually requires more energy to maintain, which increases operating costs.
